Here we see a soldier on guard duty beside the runway of the Point Salines Airport.  That's the runway just above the guard's head across the photo.  The guard is standing beside his guard position which has been sandbagged for protection from small arms fire.  Someone has rigged up a roof out of construction materials that were on hand for shade.

That little island off shore was the first thing I saw looking out the door of the plane when we first got to Grenada.  This photo was also taken from the back of a moving truck.
